Santa Teresa pairs well with a honeymoon precisely because it isn’t polished for tourists — it’s a real surf town that happens to have one of the best beaches on the Nicoya Peninsula. Hotel Nantipa sits right on that beach, an SLH property with bungalow-style rooms designed for two, an open-air restaurant, and a stretch of sand quiet enough that sunset rarely means a crowd.
Couples tend to spend mornings on the water — a surf lesson together is one of the most common requests here — and evenings at one of the beach bars along the main road, several of which do genuinely good food rather than the usual tourist-town shortcuts. A day trip to nearby Montezuma’s waterfalls is an easy add if you want a change of scenery.
Three to four nights works well here, usually as a stop within a longer trip — Santa Teresa’s unpaved roads and slower pace make it a better fit for settling in than for a rushed overnight.
