Transfer to the Pacuare river. Rafting on the Rio Pacuare and night in the jungle.

A rafting guide will greet you early for the trip to the Pacuare River. You’ll pass through San Jose, the city of Cartago and verdant farmland before stopping for a typical Costa Rican breakfast. After safety training and a quick introduction to white water rafting, you’ll be paddling through rapids and floating past lush tropical foliage. After 90 minutes on the river, we arrive at the Pacuare Lodge, where you’ll be greeted with a tropical drink and taken to your spacious jungle bungalow with a river view. After a delicious lunch in the main lodge, you can ascend to the treetops and enjoy a parrot’s-eye view of the rainforest while gliding along cables on our canopy tour. In the evening, its candle light, champagne on ice, tree-frog serenade and delectable dining at the NairiAwari Restaurant.

Day off at Pacuare River.

After a delicious breakfast of home-made bread, tropical fruits, yogurt, eggs, pancakes, cereal, juice and coffee a resident naturalist guide will provide you with unique insights into the plant and animal world.

Optional Tours: Guided hikes through lush rainforests or a tour to the Cabecar Indigenous community. Here you may participate in a cultural exchange with a Shaman. Enjoy a canopy tour and glide through the thick jungle canopy.

Private Transfer to Puerto Viejo.

After a second rafting adventure you will be driven to your hotel in Puerto Viejo, where lush thick jungles meet the Caribbean seas, soft caramel colored sands caress your body and the multicultural vibes of Jamaican and Europeans alike make it the go to destination for a laid back vacation.  Puerto Viejo is not for everyone as it is still considered off the beaten track.  However, this unique Caribbean town is authentic without golf courses, marinas, country clubs, swimming pools or air conditioned rooms common on the North Pacific coast of Costa Rica. This Caribbean region instead offers the exotic Cahuita National Park, Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife refuge, hidden beaches, rugged nightlife and delightful restaurants.

Tour to the Gandoca Natural Reserve in Manzanillo.

This adventurous tour takes place in the Refugio de Vida Silvestre Gandoca-Manzanillo and includes a 10 km (5 km one way) hike to Manzanillo. The path features an incredible rich flora and fauna with animals of the tropical rainforest in every corner. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the amazing ocean view from different points and admire the magical scenery that you will only find on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica.

Day off in Puerto Viejo.

From renting a local banana bike to cycling from one beach to another through sandy trails to activities such as SUP (stand up paddle boarding), surfing, a visit to the sloth sanctuary or the jaguar rescue center are all but a few of the exciting adventures you may experience in Puerto Viejo.

Private Transfer to Bajos del Toro.

Bajos del Toro is still very much an undiscovered area among rainforests and dairy farms.  However, the 5 star sustainable El Silencio Lodge is attracting people from all over the world.  Bajos del Toro has amazing waterfalls with chilly swimming holes and great for trout fishing.  Hikes, horseback riding, mountain biking and canopy tours are popular activities to enjoy here!

You will enjoy an exciting horseback ride on well groomed Hacienda trails while watching the lush natural beauty of the surrounding forest.
